Our Mission:

The Kid Project Community Childcare Center’s goal is to provide a quality and affordable childcare program for children ages six weeks to twelve years, one which considers the total welfare of the child regardless of race, sex, religion, age, disability or national origin. Our hope is to lay a firm and healthy foundation for each child that will benefit him or her their lifetime ahead.

Our Staff:

The center’s staff includes a director with a B.A. or Associates degree, management experience and experience in early childhood education; lead teachers with college or associate degrees and/or experience in early childhood education; teacher’s assistants and nursery aides qualified by their education and/or past experience with children. All staff have a criminal background record check performed on them, basic life support and basic first aid certification, universal precautions training, earn a minimum of 6 hours of in service training per year, and have satisfied the Child Abuse/Mandatory reporting requirements. Occasionally you will see a new face at the center; it may be a student volunteer, or a college intern. All volunteers must have a criminal record check performed on them. Any parent wishing to volunteer or chaperone a field trip must also have a criminal record check.

Program Objectives:

Our early childhood programs are designed to promote a child’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical growth by:

  • Providing a developmentally appropriate environment filled with a variety of learning activities, and guided by caring, loving and qualified staff members.

  • Encouraging each child’s self-esteem and independence by inviting that child to explore his/her world and to master self-help skills.

  • Promoting a child’s socialization skills through play with peers and interaction with caring adults who have the child’s best interest in mind.

  • Encouraging good health and nutritional habits by washing hands before and after eating meals, after using the toilet; and eating healthy snacks and meals, attractively served, that are designed to meet each child’s daily dietary needs.
